Victoria College Students Achieve Record A Level Results

On Thursday morning Victoria College Sixth Form students were welcomed into the Great Hall to receive their A Level and other Level 3 qualification results. Senior staff and the careers team were all present to offer support and guidance to the boys as they make the next important decisions about their futures, as were many members of staff to celebrate the successes with the students.

Prior to any potential uplifts seen through examination remarks and resits, Victoria College’s results were at record highs in all headline bands (data not including COVID years). A*s increased by 5% on last year to 18%, A*-A% improved to 43%. A*-B% were up to 73% and A*-C% saw a very pleasing 90%. 16 of our students – 23% of the whole cohort – achieved all A* or As in their results, with two attaining an impressive four A* grades profile. 94% of students that applied to university have secured their first or insurance choice offers. This cohort’s results place Victoria College in the top 10% for progress across all schools in the United Kingdom.

Headteacher Dr Gareth Hughes said, “I am delighted to see record results for this wonderful cohort of young men, and could not be more proud of their hard work and perseverance over the last few years. They are the group that started Victoria College with me in 2018, and it has been a privilege to have witnessed their growth and development. There are so many success stories in this group and they leave with outstanding qualifications that will pave the way for the rest of their lives, in whatever ventures they embark upon. I will certainly miss them all and wish them every success.

I am grateful for the care and guidance from my staff, and for the support of the parents, who have all provided the excellent foundations on which these record-breaking successes have been built.”
